During the early months of Spring, there is a temptation to feed your fish as soon as they become active at the surface; they need to “come out of hibernation” properly. Although fish will eat once active, their digestive systems will not function properly until the water temperature is warm enough, causing bloating and in extreme cases, death.

By changing to an easily digestible food, such as Sera's Spirulina, fish build up a better immune system to survive the spring temperature and water changes. Suspend fish feeding until water temperature reaches a minimum 11 degrees Celsius.
